A Touch of Lavender Magic: The Ingredients

This Lavender Margarita recipe isn’t complicated, but the quality of your ingredients will truly elevate the final product. Here’s what you’ll need:

  • 2 oz. Corralejo Silver Tequila: This smooth tequila provides a solid base for the margarita without overpowering the other flavors.
  • 1 oz. House-Made Lavender Syrup: This is the star of the show! The floral notes of lavender add a touch of magic to the drink. (Don’t worry, we’ll provide a recipe for this too!)
  • 1 oz. Fresh Lime Juice: Freshly squeezed lime juice is essential for that perfect balance of tartness and sweetness.
  • Agave Nectar (optional): Agave nectar adds a touch of natural sweetness to the drink, but feel free to adjust the amount depending on your preference and the sweetness of your lavender syrup.
  • Coarse Sea Salt and Dried Lavender: These are for the rim, and trust us, the salty and floral combination is divine!

Crafting the Lavender Margarita: Instructions

  1. Make the Magic Elixir (Lavender Syrup):
    • In a saucepan, combine 1 cup of water and 1 cup of granulated sugar. Heat over medium heat until the sugar dissolves completely, stirring occasionally.
    • Remove from heat and add 1/2 cup of dried culinary lavender. Steep for at least 30 minutes, allowing the flavors to infuse.
    • Strain the syrup into a clean container and refrigerate until chilled. (This syrup can be stored in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.)
  2. Prepare the Glass:
    • Run a lime wedge around the rim of a margarita glass. Dip the rim in a mixture of coarse sea salt and dried lavender.
  3. Shake it Up!:
    • In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, combine the tequila, lavender syrup, lime juice, and agave nectar (to taste). Shake vigorously for about 15 seconds, until well chilled and frothy.
  4. The Grand Finale:
    • Strain the lavender margarita into the prepared glass. Garnish with a sprig of fresh lavender (optional) and a satisfied smile.
