Scrambling for an easy Halloween appetizer recipe? This pumpkin cheese ball recipe is quick and simple, using just a few ingredients readily available at the supermarket.
This cream cheese ball is coated in a mix of spicy crushed Doritos, Takis or Flamin’ Hot Cheetos.
The pumpkin cheese ball filling is made from softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, minced green onion, cumin and sliced jalapeños.
After you prepare the cream cheese filling, just chill it for around 2 hours; or place in the freezer for 15 minutes to speed up the process.
When chilled, unwrap and roll the ball in crushed Doritos or Flamin’ Hot Cheetos. Place a bell pepper stem on the top, and make eyes from dark corn tortilla chips, using some of the dip to paste on!

- 16 ounces cream cheese softened
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 3 tablespoons minced green onion, chives or onion
- 2 tablespoons salsa
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 5 minced jalapeño slices
- 15-20 Nacho Cheese Doritos or Flamin Hot Cheetos
- Dark corn tortilla chips for eyes
- Bell pepper stem for topper
Instructions
- Mix ingredients well and place on plastic wrap. Wrap up the ball and form a ball. Chill around 2 hours; or place in the freezer for 15 minutes to speed up the process.
