Cambria Chili Cookoff

Every May, the central coast is swarming with chili fans who arrive for the annual Cambria Chili Cookoff. And this year, I was asked to be a judge! How cool is that?

I had a lot of fun trying out all the different chilis. There was turkey chili with avocado, a chicken chile with green sauce, and plenty of hearty beef chilis as well. The chili cook off prize ended up going to the Lion’s Club, who got my vote for their addition of sausage to the mix.

It was so cool to meet good, passionate people who know how to cook chili with just the right amount of heat, texture and color! The residents of Cambria were so much fun to be around, and they sure know how to have a good time!
