Frozen Gin and Tonic

This frozen gin and tonic recipe, inspired by Vaca in Costa Mesa, is a refreshing and delicious cocktail that is perfect for a hot summer day! It is made with gin, tonic water, lime juice and ice. It’s blended until it is smooth and frosty, then garnished with some fresh basil blossoms!

What tastes better on a hot summer day than a frozen cocktail? I adapted this recipe from my favorite frozen daiquiri recipe, which uses limeade, rum and ice. To make it a frozen gin and tonic, I follow the same steps, but add a bit of tonic water to the recipe.

For a variation, you can freeze your tonic water in an ice tray in place of the ice cubes. Then, add the frozen tonic to your blender, along with the gin and lime concentrate, and blend away until smooth and frosty!

This frozen gin and tonic recipe is typically garnished with basil blossoms, but I’ve also used fresh thyme or lavender. However, you can use a lime wedge or slice. Serve in a stemless glass.
