Navajo Fry Bread Tacos

These authentic Navajo Fry Bread Tacos are a delicious treat when visiting Navajo Nation. They’re made with a light and fluffy crunchy tortilla that can have as many fillings and toppings as your imagination allows!

We first tried these delicious Navajo tacos during a stop at the Ute Mountain Reservation at Four Corners, U.S.A. This popular tourist attraction marks the intersection of four states: Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona and Utah.

Traditionally, the fry bread is offered with toppings such as powdered sugar, cinnamon sugar, honey, apple butter or apricot lam.

The Navajo Frybread Tacos are served open-faced with your choice of toppings like chili beans, ground beef, shredded cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and onions.

The Navajo fry bread tacos are prepared fresh to order and fried in hot oil until thick, bubbly and crunchy. Then, you just add your favorite toppings, fold in half, and enjoy!

When making this Navajo fry bread tacos recipe at home, prepare all of your filling ingredients, such as ground beef, in advance. You can also try your hand at a Navajo Burger, which uses the same fry bread recipe. Then all you do is add the grilled beef patties and your favorite burger toppings!
