When we discovered Roy Choi's recipe for creamy ramen, we knew we had to try it at home. Basically, he takes a simple pack of grocery store ramen noodles, and doctors it up with a delicious blend of melted American cheese, diced green onions, toasted sesame seeds and a soft boiled egg. Roy prefers to use the Shin Ramyun brand of ramen, but you can certainly use anything you find in your supermarket.
Add the flavor pack from your packaged ramen and cook for another 3 minutes.
Turn off the heat. Crack in the egg, and with some tongs or a fork, carefully pull the hot noodles on top of the raw egg. Allow it to poach for about 3 minutes.
Pour ramen carefully into a bowl.
Slowly stir in the butter, American cheese and sesame seeds, being careful not to break the egg.
Top with the chopped green onions or chives and enjoy!
