Have you ever tried a spicy margarita? Here in California, the jalapeño margarita is quite popular. Garnish with a wedge of fresh lime and slice of jalapeño for a refreshing summer drink.
Coat rim of glass with fresh lime juice and dunk in a plate of Tajin seasoning, coating well.
Muddle sliced jalapenos in the bottom of a cocktail shaker.
Add the tequila, grand mariner, sweet and sour mix and lime juice.
Cover shaker and mix well.
Add ice to glass, about 3/4 full.
Strain margarita over the ice.
Garnish with fresh lime wedge or fresh sliced jalapeño.
Notes
If you want to make your own jalapeño tequila, it's actually quite easy! You simply add 2-3 sliced jalapeños to a bottle of tequila and steep it for 12-48 hours. Then, just strain the seeds and jalapeños out and pour it back into the bottle with a funnel.
