Tequila Mockingbird

Tequila Mockingbird Watermelon Margarita Recipe

If you’re a fan of margaritas, you’re going to love this Tequila Mockingbird recipe. It’s made with fresh muddled watermelon, tart lime juice, top-shelf silver tequila, fresh rosemary, and rimmed with Hawaiian black lava sea salt.

This fruity and refreshing watermelon margarita is the perfect beverage for a hot summer day.

To make the Tequila Mockingbird, you’ll need about 4 ounces of fresh watermelon juice. You can puree a few cubes (no seeds please) in the blender and keep the juice in the refrigerator until you’re ready to make the cocktail.

Additional ingredients include agave syrup or simple syrup, a top-shelf blanco tequila such as Casa Dragones Blanc or Los Arango Tequila Blanco, and fresh-squeezed lime juice. I like to garnish my cocktails with fresh herbs, such as rosemary, picked from my garden.

This recipe makes enough for two drinks. I like to use a 20 oz. cocktail shaker for this recipe.
