More Than Just a Snack: A Nostalgic Bite of Fun

For many Disney park visitors, the aroma of sizzling bacon and fresh asparagus wafting from the Bengal BBQ stand is part of the Adventureland experience. These simple yet satisfying skewers are a favorite among guests of all ages. They offer a light and delicious bite between exploring all the park’s exciting attractions.

The Key to Perfection: All About the Bacon

The secret to achieving perfectly crispy and flavorful Bengal BBQ Safari Skewers lies in the bacon. Here are a few key tips:

  • Thin is the way to win: Use thinly sliced bacon to ensure it crisps up beautifully without overpowering the asparagus.
  • Wrap it tight: Ensure the bacon wraps snugly around the asparagus spears. This creates a cohesive bite and prevent them from falling apart during cooking.
  • Don’t overcook: The goal is to crisp the bacon while keeping the asparagus tender and slightly crisp.

Cooking Methods: Fryer or Oven, You Decide!

This recipe offers two cooking methods to suit your preferences:

  • Deep fryer: Use a deep fryer to achieve perfectly golden brown and crispy bacon.
  • Oven baking: Baking the skewers in the oven yields similar results with slightly less crispness.

Beyond the Skewers: Customization Options Await!

While the classic recipe features just bacon and asparagus, feel free to explore your creativity and personalize your skewers! Here are some ideas:

  • Spice it up: Sprinkle the skewers with a pinch of cayenne pepper or chili flakes.
  • Get cheesy: Drizzle the cooked skewers with melted cheese like parmesan or cheddar for an extra burst of flavor.
  • Add a sweet twist: Drizzle the skewers with a honey glaze or a balsamic reduction. This offers a sweet and savory combination.
